Terms & Conditions

Terms and Conditions | Dab Hand Driving

By booking a lesson with Dab Hand Driving, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These are designed to ensure a fair, safe, and professional environment for both the student and the instructor.

1. Driving Licenses and Fitness to Drive

License: You must hold a valid UK provisional driving license (or appropriate international permit). You must produce this on your first lesson.

Health: You must be fit to drive. This includes meeting the DVSA eyesight requirement (reading a registration plate from 20.5 meters) and not being under the influence of alcohol, legal drugs, or illegal substances.

Safety: We reserve the right to terminate a lesson immediately if the instructor deems the student unfit to drive for any reason. The full lesson fee will still apply.

2. The 48-Hour Cancellation Policy

Your time is valuable, and so is ours. To keep the diary running smoothly, we enforce a strict cancellation policy:

Notice Period: You must provide at least 48 hours' notice if you wish to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

Late Cancellations: If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, the full lesson fee will be charged.

Instructor Cancellations: If we need to cancel due to vehicle breakdown or illness, we will reschedule your lesson as soon as possible. We are not liable for any costs incurred (e.g., lost wages).

3. Consistency Clause: Weekend slots are reserved for students who maintain a minimum of one lesson per week. Gaps of more than 14 days may result in the slot being offered to someone else.

4. Payments and Refunds

Pre-payment: All lessons must be paid for in advance using BAC no later than 72 hours prior to your arranged lesson.

Block Bookings: Discounted block bookings are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Block hours must typically be used within 6 months of purchase.

5. The Practical Driving Test

Booking: Please consult your instructor before booking your practical test to ensure you are test-ready and the vehicle is available.

Vehicle Use: We reserve the right to withhold the use of the tuition vehicle for the test if the instructor believes the student’s driving is potentially dangerous or not up to test standard.

Test Cancellations: If the DVSA cancels a test, we are not responsible for the lost fee, though we will assist you in claiming a refund from the DVSA where applicable.

6. Punctuality

• The instructor will wait at the agreed pickup point for 15 minutes. If you do not show up, the lesson will be cancelled and the full fee charged.

• If the instructor is running late due to traffic, the lost time will be added to the end of the lesson or credited to a future session.

7. Personal Data

• Your data is handled in accordance with GDPR. We only use your information for lesson scheduling, progress tracking, and communication regarding your driving tuition

Note: These terms are subject to change. Continued booking of lessons constitutes acceptance of the most recent version of these terms.
